Salary Schedule: SDPC Teacher Salary Schedule plus $5,000
Days/Hours: 190 Days/7.5 Hours per day
This pool is for anticipated positions in the 2020-21 School Year.
Position Requires Current South Carolina Certification in Speech Correction
Purpose Statement:
To provide quality services for the maximum intervention of speech/language disabilities.
Responsibility and Authority
The Speech Therapist will report to the assigned school’s Principal and the Director of Special Services. They will have the responsibility to accomplish assigned duties within district policies, state laws and regulations, and federal laws and regulations as related to the school’s purpose, classroom function, and contact with students and parents.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Screens, evaluates, and diagnoses speech/language disorders and determines student eligibility for enrollment in the speech/language program.
- Develops goals, objectives, methods, and materials to assist students in achieving their highest potential.
- Provides speech/language services in full compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintains student records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Consults with principals, clinicians, teachers, parents, and other agencies as needed.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competency.
- Attends school and district staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
- Participates in staff development programs.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and the Director of Special Services
Minimum Education and Training
Position Requires Current South Carolina Certification in Speech Correction
